Pork & potatoes

Me and a few others from work ventured down to the food market at the canal near Baggot Street for lunch. Each stall had a que a half an hour long. I opted for the pork and potato stand. I was very pleasantly pleased. The had a hungry or famished option. Clearly went for the famished option. The potatoes were sautéed and DELICIOUS. The pork was succulent and unreal. Six delicia points.

Bacon sandwich

Maple rashers, spinach and mozzarella. Divine. I'm having a bit of a bacon sandwich rush at the moment.

Sloppy Joe

Fiona & I ventured to Honest To Goodness for Friday luncheon in town. We both got their Sloppy Joe, (only available on Fridays) it was stunning. It almost blew my head off with the spiciness - my spicy sense is quite sensitive. Seven delicia points.

Potato x3

Trevor whipped up an all potato dinner for us. Anything potato related is my favourite food. He made; mash with chopped scallions, garlic & chalottes, cheesy potato dauphine and sweet potato chips. It's deffo the nicest food gesture anyone's ever done for me. I'd give the whole meal ten delicia points out of ten.

Bla's sexy smoked salmon and avocado salad

Didn't get to taste it but I can only imagine... YUM

Kerrygold... SPREADABLE

I butter my butter. It's my favourite sauce/ addition to anything. I only go with real butter. If you're gonna do it, just fucking do it properly. No heart saving butters for me. I ventured to Londis to get a block of butter only to find they were out of the real stuff. I settled for Kerrygold spreadable. It was a good choice. I give this butter eight delicia points.

Cashew nut butter based pasta

I am pastas number one fan. Good Jesus, this dish has outdone any pasta dish I've had in a long time. The king of all cooks, Anthony Robinson, whipped it up for me. I got the ingredients, which is most of the work really.

I like a cream based pasta rather than a tomato one - if you're like me then this will send you over the edge. It involves a jar of cashew butter, frozen peas, a lashing of kosher salt, tender stem broccoli and milk. Not the most appealing presentation, but I was ravaged. How pretty is that purple headed broccoli?

Spirulina

I can't express my love for this green, super powder enough. I've been on Spirulina for about three months now, and have fully noticed a difference. It's an overall system booster. If I were a car it would be my diesel. I have two heaped spoonfuls in a half glass of orange juice every morning. It boosts my energy levels within an hour, improves my concentration levels noticeably and keeps me full till lunchtime. Ignore the fact that it looks and smells like a swamp smoothie. If you're looking for an all round miracle health drink, then I'd seriously recommend this. Holland & Barrett €16 for a months supply.

Buenos Aires Grill, Golden Lane

I've always walked passed this and was curious but not intrigued enough to go in. I was brought by Matthew's parents for his graduation. Perfect occasion for a place like this. I got the chicken supreme with a delicious potato cake and the richest gravy. Sauce is number one to me. For desert I got the chocolate lava cake. I'd give the place six delicia points.

Olive Cafe

I lunched in the Olive Cafe in Fumbally Square. They are great for the toasties. Tuna melt (abso fave) veggie selection for Trevor and broccoli soup for his friend. I'd give it an overall six delicia points out of ten.

Zingy Zangy Salad

I'm going through a major salad phase these days. It's the dish that keeps on giving. Last night's salad involved; parma ham, beetroot, feta cheese, red onion, caramelised walnuts, blanched broccoli, artichoke hearts, butter lettuce and lambs lettuce. The fantastical creation was drenched in a lemon and vinaigrette dressing. It was an orgy of textures and fresh flavours. It may not look like the prettiest thing, but boy would I highly recommend the concoction.
